Do I need a coach?

Everyone is different, there's no one-size-fits-all solution
Having a coach to guide you probably costs no more than a weekly take-away and guarantees you a professional in your corner, someone who knows you as an athlete, how you respond to training, your individual needs and what your limits are.

No two athletes are the same so there's no one-size fits all.
We use evidence-based sports science and technology with each individual to make you the best athlete you can be on race day.

Yes you can download a plan, grab a magazine planner or copy a friend's plan but it has its limitations - will they adapt with you as your fitness improves?

Finally, a good coach will be on hand to offer support, experience and plain old encouragement when the going gets tough.

“To uncover your true potential you must first find your limits and then have the courage to blow past them.”

“John brought me to a new level of fitness when he trained me for
Ironman Cork.
He tailored my training to suit my
best interest and found what worked best for me.
Always only a phone call away at any time - day or night.

“ ... a very practical coach who knows how and when to push the right buttons or when your confidence might need a little boost.
No matter what your experience or fitness, if you want to do it then John has the knowledge and temperament to get you to that start line. . ”

Being at opposite ends of the country wasn't an issue...
We completed Ironman Zell am See 70.3 and followed that with Ironman in Cork.
With the structured training not one of the 3 of us had a single training-based injury through the 12 months of training. For this we are grateful to John and his attention to detail...will definitely be using him again.

“Prior to engaging iTri, I was quite injury-prone, and considering calling it a day with running.
John quickly identified several changes that I needed to make in my running technique.
We then focused on optimising and refining my approach with S&C, nutrition, swimming and cycling.”
